College Assessment Summary Reports

"What we learned and what we are doing about it"

As of fall 2008 all academic divisions had reviewed and revised student learning outcome goals for all majors offered at Union College. Standards and benchmarks have also been determined and student learning assessment measured against these benchmarks has been done in the majority of courses through the course assessment program.

As data has been collected, faculty within disciplines as well as on the divisional levels are discussing the results, proposing changes in curriculum, and teaching approaches or goals and objectives. A greater variety of assessment methods have also been recommended and implemented in several academic areas.

The annual assessment report is written by the Director of Academic Assessment, reviewed and approved by the Student Learning Assessment Committee and the Academic Council. It is a summary of completed assessment and assessment results during the previous school year and provides the direction for assessment at the college for the following year.
