Computer Connectivity - Wireless
Most of Union’s buildings are covered by the student wireless network named UC_Student. For access, log in to the Portal and click on Wireless Key.
Dorm Computer Connectivity – Ethernet
Most dorm rooms are supplied with two (blue and orange) wired Ethernet connections, a phone connection (ivory) and a cable TV connection. The two (blue and orange) connections are identical. You must use a standard Ethernet cable, which can be purchased at the UC Campus Store.
Dorm Phone Connection
The phone connection (ivory) provides service for analog telephones and answering machines. Your phone number is available from the dean. Dialing instructions and campus directories are available at www.ucollege.edu > Campus Services > Information Systems > Telephones.
Dorm Cable TV Connection
Each dorm room is supplied with a cable TV connection providing approximately 65 channels from the local cable provider, Time Warner. Coax cables are available at the UC Campus Store. When connecting the cable, check the following in the TV setup menu:
- Make sure TV is set to cable not antenna or air
- Program the channels (TV will scan through each channel available)
Time Warner WILL NOT accept requests for any problems or any other services, such as subscription channels, Pay Per View or Road Runner Internet.
