JILL PHILLIPS HEADLINES UNION COLLEGE CONCERT SERIES

LINCOLN—On Friday, Jan. 23, Union College will host a concert by Christian recording artist Jill Phillips. The free concert will take place at College View Church located on the corners of 48th and Prescott at 7:30 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Phillips, chosen as the 2002 pick for best independent artist of the year by CCM Magazine readers, has found remarkable success among Christian music fans. Phillips reaches audiences with her heartfelt folk/pop style. She recently released a popular album “God & Money,” and is currently working on another project, “Writing On The Wall” (Fervent Records).

Phillips’s life is a testimony to her faith. “My goal is to do everything to the best of my ability,” Phillips says, “so that He can use it in whatever way He sees fit.” She is often surprised at the ways in which He uses her music. “It is always an amazing thing when the songs are used to speak to people, sometimes in ways that I never even intended in writing them.”

Donations will be accepted at the door. Any questions may be directed to Union College Campus Ministries at 486-2508.
