Former UNL coach Ron Brown speaks at Union

LINCOLN—Ron Brown, one of the assistant coaches that lead the Cornhuskers to three national football titles, will speak to Union College students on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 10:30 a.m. Brown, who is now the executive director of the Nebraska chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) organization, will speak at Union’s weekly chapel program.
After being released in January from the University of Nebraska football program, Brown received offers from the Canadian Football League, the University of Pittsburgh and the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Brown accepted the position with the FCA in March. According to Brown, sharing God’s word is what gives his life purpose.
“Ron Brown has had a tremendous impact on the state of Nebraska with his genuine Christianity,” said Rich Carlson, Union College’s Chaplain. “We wanted students to hear from a man of faith and action.”
Brown will speak to students about showing their Christianity through their actions in everyday situations.
