Christian Concert Series continues at Union College

Ten Shekel Shirt will perform at College View Seventh-day Adventist Church Oct. 31

LINCOLN—Ten Shekel Shirt, a Christian band will perform at College View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 49th and Prescott Ave. on October 31. The group is part of the Christian Concert Series sponsored by Union College’s Campus Ministries department. Ten Shekel Shirt’s latest album, Risk, features the #1 hit “Ocean”.
After Lamont Hiebert, lead vocalist for the band, visited South East Asia in 2002, Ten Shekel Shirt launched Justice for Children International (JFCI), which raises awareness and resources for the prevention, rescue and care of sexually exploited children.
“We are just a small part of a growing movement towards justice for children,” said Austin Morrison, the band’s drummer. “Although it’s challenging trying to make it as a band and pioneer a foundation at the same time, we wouldn’t trade in our involvement for anything.”
Tickets for the concert are available at Family Christian Stores or by calling Union College’s Campus Ministries department at (402) 486-2508. General admission at the door is $15, advance sales are $12, groups of eight or more are $12, students with ID are $10, and children 12 and under are free.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.; doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
