Dunlap joins Union College board

S. Dunlap has accepted appointment to the Union College Board of Trustees.
Dunlap will join Union’s 36-member board representing business and higher
education leaders from across the country. He has served on Union’s
President’s Community Council since 2001.
“Mike has demonstrated a noteworthy
commitment to higher education and leadership in the Lincoln community,”
said David Smith, Union College president. “We are delighted he will be
sharing his vision and strategic strengths with Union.”
Dunlap, 42, is chairman and co-chief
executive officer of Nelnet and has been a member of the Nelnet Board of
Directors since 1989. He is currently the non-executive chairman of Union
Bank and Trust Company where he has held various positions for
approximately 20 years, including chief executive officer. He is also a
director and president of Farmers & Merchants Investment Inc., the parent
of Union Bank and Trust Company.
Other involvement includes serving on
the board of directors for the University of Nebraska Foundation and a
member of the Education Committee of the Young Presidents’ Organization,
Nebraska Chapter. A member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, Dunlap
received a B.S. degree in finance and accounting in 1986 and a J.D. degree
from the University of Nebraska in 1988.
