Union College awards degrees to 149 graduates
Lincoln—On Sunday, May 14, Union College awarded associate and baccalaureate degrees to 149 students during the annual commencement ceremony in the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church. The service recognized 18 graduates from December 2005, 105 May graduates and 26 prospective August graduates. Among this group, five students graduated as Union Scholars and 10 students received two degrees for a total of 159 degrees.
Dr. Richard Carlson, Union College chaplain of 25 years and father to two of the graduating seniors, was the commencement address speaker.
In the following graduate lists, honor students are indicated by abbreviations following their name. Union College awards degrees with honors on the grade-point average scale as listed below:
Summa Cum Laude (SCL) 3.9-4.0
Magna Cum Laude (MCL) 3.75-3.89
Cum Laude (CL) 3.5-3.74
Commendation (CD) 3.5-4.0
Honors program includes advanced coursework and a research project.
