Project Impact receives Hometown Hero award

Project Impact leaders Jesse Proctor and Justin Okimi accept Hometown Hero award from Modern Woodmen of America representative Kathy J. Koch.

LINCOLN—Union College’s Project Impact received a Hometown Hero award on Oct. 24 from the Modern Woodmen of America. This year Project Impact involved approximately 650 students and faculty and gave 4,000 hours of service to 50 sites throughout Lincoln. St. Monica’s, a site that offers substance abuse treatment for women, nominated Project Impact for the award.
The Hometown Heroes award also included $100, which Union representatives, Justin Okimi and Jesse Proctor, donated to St. Monica’s.
Next year will be the 25th anniversary of Union College’s community service day.
