Jansen exhibits watercolor paintings at Union College

 LINCOLN—A collection of watercolor paintings by Darlene Jansen entitled, “From Near to Far,” will be on display at Union College’s McClelland Art Gallery from Oct. 3 to Nov. 4. Jansen’s work is part of permanent collections, such as the Nebraska Governor's Mansion, the South Dakota Governor's Residence and the World Organization of China Painters Museum (Oklahoma City).
        Her artwork shows portraits, wildlife, florals, still life and landscapes from Jansen’s domestic and world travel. She has visited places such as Europe, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and toured the United States.
        Jansen received her professional art education at Augustana College (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and the University of Nebraska. She now works as a visual art instructor at Southeast Community College and is an associate member of the Burkholder Gallery in Lincoln.
        The McClelland Art Gallery is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
