Larson Lifestyle Center
free to community on June 16, celebrates 25 years
LINCOLN—Union College invites the community to celebrate the grand
reopening of Larson
Lifestyle Center
on June 16. For one day, explore the newly renovated facility and
customer-friendly atmosphere for free. Workout in the weight and fitness room
(5:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m.) or enjoy the pool’s lap swim (5:45 a.m.-9 a.m., noon-2
p.m.), open swim (3 p.m.-4:30 p.m.) or a water aerobic class (8 a.m. and 12:45
p.m.).
Larson Lifestyle
Center is also
celebrating its 25th anniversary in July. To commemorate the quarter a century
of services during the 25 days from July 10 to August 11, new or renewing
annual members can enter to win prizes: 25 iPod shuffles and 25 Larson duffle
bags.
“Larson is one of the best pools
I’ve ever been in,” said Donnie Epp, 83-year-old life long swimmer and member
of Larson for 23 years. “You don’t feel you’re swimming in a cave. It’s a
bright, cheery place that makes you feel good.”
In March the Larson Lifestyle
Center pool was closed
for structural repairs. The three-month renovation project cost an estimated
$550,000 and included replacing the ceiling structure and heating, ventilation
and air conditioning systems, as well as painting and other upgrades.
Larson
Lifestyle Center
is located on 51st Street
and Bancroft Avenue
on the campus of Union
College. Call
402.486.2525 for more information about memberships or the free grand reopening
event.
