SONscreen Film Festival Showcase debuts college tour at
Union College
SONscreen Film Festival
co-founders Stacia Dulan and Jere Wallack will debut the SONscreen Film
Festival Showcase College Tour at Union College. The program was created
to inform college students and faculty about the annual SONscreen Film
Festival, the official North American Division (NAD) film festival for
Christian filmmakers. The national tour will commence with a fun-filled
showcase event to be held in the Union College administration building
amphitheater on Saturday evening, Jan. 28, 2006 from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“We are thrilled to make college
students aware of the exciting opportunity to participate in an innovative
media movement by submitting their work and attending the SONscreen Film
Festival,” said Stacia Dulan, Producer of the SONscreen Film Festival for
the North American Division (NAD). “Our screenings of remarkable works
coupled with informative filmmaker Q&A sessions will not only demonstrate
the growing impact of film, video and animation in ministry but will also
inspire and challenge those who want to use their creative gifts to touch
the lives of their communities at large.” Sponsored locally by the
Associated Student Body (ASB), the Union College showcase event will also
feature exciting prize giveaways including an iPod Shuffle and SONscreen
t-shirts, caps and DVDs.
The 2006 SONscreen Film Festival will
be held April 20-22 in Simi Valley, Calif. Sponsored by the NAD, the
SONscreen Film Festival is an annual gathering for Adventist Christian
young adults who have a passion for using film and video for the purpose
of creating timely and relevant productions for outreach, social awareness
and uplifting creative entertainment. Since its debut in October 2002, the
festival has become the destination for established and up-and-coming
Adventist filmmakers to share their creative work, gain exposure and
network with other media and film professionals.
SONscreen Showcase events are
designed to create grass roots awareness and support for the SONscreen
Project and benefit filmmakers, film enthusiasts and the church at large.
The Union College Showcase, a free event, is open to the general public.
