Union professor releases piano album
LINCOLN—Union College music
professor, Ryan Wells, is releasing a new album entitled, An Afternoon
Concert, of romantic piano solos. This is his third CD of classical music.
The new album features “Fantasie-Impromptu,”
“UnSospiro,” “Five Songs without Words” and other piano gems. One of
Wells’ favorite pieces is UnSospiro. “It’s a showy yet beautiful piece,”
said Wells. “It’s a very rich piece that many people have requested.”
Wells received an Arts Musical
Doctorate in piano performance from the University of Arizona in 1982 and
released his first CD in 1995, entitled Shades of Enchantment. Nebraska
Public Radio Network has aired his music and conducted an interview with
Wells about his album Night Songs in 2004.
Romantic piano music has a quiet
vitality to Wells. “In a time of stress and world tension, I feel it’s
therapeutic.”
Mailing release for An Afternoon
Concert is Dec. 1. Cost is $15 for the new CD and $12 for Shades of
Enchantment and Night Songs. Discount rates are available for multiple
sales. To order, contact Ryan Wells at
