It's May 1; Good Morning Union
“I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that HE IS ABLE…” 2 Timothy 1:12
Probably one of my favorite verses in all the Bible; also the last words Ellen White spoke before she died. It just reflects such a confidence in God (and not in myself) as I journey toward His kingdom. Three parts, with a focus on the middle part:
1. “I know WHOM I have believed,” meaning for me it’s WAY more than WHAT I know; it’s about WHO I know!
2. What do I “know?” That “HE IS ABLE.” Want to know how able He is? Here are the texts that I’ve written in my Bible to remind me. Check them out! He is able to:
Make children from rocks! Matthew 3:9
Provide you with blessings in abundance 2 Corinthians 9:8
Do far more abundantly that we could ever ask or think Ephesians 3:20
Save to the utter most ALL who call on him Hebrews 7:25
Keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the thrown, with exceeding joy! Jude 24
And the list goes on but I think I’ve made my point! J
3. But it’s apparently only available in my life IF I commit my life, and everything I want blessed, to Him. “He is able to keep THAT WHICH I commit to Him.”
So my decision each day is, what do I want to commit to Him so I can let Him be “able” in my life?
Have a great day in commitment to God,
Quote for the day: “A physician once said, ‘The best medicine of humans is love.’ Someone asked, ‘What if it doesn’t work?’ He smiled and said, ‘Increase the dose!’”
PS “Jammin’ for Jesus.” Join Anna and friends in Rees Hall from 9-9:30pm for a great time of worship, praise and fellowship.
PPS Today let’s pray a prayer of commitment specifically for our search for a new president as we interview candidates. I believe “He is able” to guide us to the right choice.
