Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1

After yesterday comes the assurance of today. Because of Easter; because of the resurrection; because of the ascension; because Jesus IS alive and the Father accepted what He did for us, there IS now NO condemnation BECAUSE we are IN Christ. THAT is the reason I am a Christian. THAT is the reason I love my Savior so much.

“Surely this was a righteous man.”           Luke 23:47

Friday of that weekend long ago was the day Jesus died. Killed for the “sin” of claiming to be who He really was. And the only one who seemed to have gotten it was one of the Roman guards. His followers seemed to have made up their mind so thoroughly on what they expected from their king that they appear to have missed Jesus’ purpose entirely.

“Abba, Father, everything is possible for You. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want.” Mark 14:36

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”   Psalm 8:1

Malachi can wait! I just experienced a full lunar eclipse! It was pretty cool! You can see more pictures on Facebook. This was one time when I wished I had a really nice camera because the scene was majestic (and the light was a bit lacking!) See attachment for my best attempt with my little camera!

“The righteous will live by HIS faith.”       Habakkuk 2:4

First a necessary correction from an astute reader of yesterday’s GMU- all I did was leave one word out! “But, true to the God I continue to learn to know and love, He was NOT done with His people…”

Sorry for any theological confusion! Now I’ll try again today:

“He cares for those who trust Him.”        Nahum 1:7

Ok, not the MOST exciting book of the Bible I’ve ever read! It’s a three-page, three-chapter description of the destruction of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria (located on the Tigris River in north Iraq, in case you care!) They had been tormenting Judah, a part of God’s special people, who I guess deserved a bit of tormenting by someone because they certainly were not listening to and obeying God!

“He has shown you O man what is good. And what does the Lord require of you…?”       Micah 6:8

“Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.”           Jonah 2:8

It’s a very familiar story- Jonah and the “big fish.” But what are the lessons for me this morning. It’s only two pages long and 4 short chapters- read it and see what you find. Here’s what I found:
