From April 13-19, senior graphic design major Aprille Okimi will be exhibit, "Contradictions and Connections," will be on display in the McClelland Art Gallery. Mainly comprised of photographs, Okimi presents portraits of four of her close friends that are emotionally focused.
"Some of the pieces may seem to contradict each other," she explains in her artist statement. "They are meant to do so. I hope that in their contradiction they speak to you of the variety of experiences and emotions that can come from just one life. I hope that they remind you to be willing to look deeper than the surface."
The McClelland Art Gallery located in the Ortner Center on the Union College campus, 3800 S. 48th Street. Enter the campus from Prescott Avenue. The art gallery is free to the public and open daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Ortner Center at 402.486.2545.
