Bruce Forbes, chair of Union’s Division of Fine Arts, is taking visitors in new Directions with his McClelland Art Gallery display. Running through Feb. 13, his 25 gallery pieces include platinum and palladium prints, toned silver gelatin prints and color digital prints.
“I’m hoping to extend and explore two directions,” Forbes said. The first focus involves explorations of small towns in southeast Nebrask and the second involves techniques of darkening and blurring edges and corners, as well as printing duatone to simulate silver printing and toning. “I hope that visitors to the exhibit may see things in a new and unique way, or may change and enlarge their way of seeing and experiencing their world as a result of these images.”
The McClelland Art Gallery is in the Ortner Center on the Union College campus, 3800 S. 48th Street. Enter the campus from Prescott Avenue. The art gallery is free to the public and open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the Ortner Center at 402.486.2545.
