Union to host 60th Annual Music Festival
Students from academies and high schools across the Mid-America territory will descend on the Union College campus next week for the 60th Annual Music Festival, held January 30-February 4.
Each Seventh-day Adventist academy from a nine-state area surrounding Nebraska will send their top band members to join the festival band performing on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the Union College Gymnasium. Union College instumental groups will be featured in a concert on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Both concerts will be webcast live at uclive.ucollege.edu.
The Union College Music Festival is designed to help students improve their musical ability, bond with and learn from students at other schools and get to know Union College. While this year's event—under the direction of Cynthia Stokes, chair of the Division of Fine Arts—will feature instrumental music, the focus shifts every other year between vocal and instrumental performance.
