Celebrate Easter with special events at Union
In conjunction with Homecoming Weekend, Union College will celebrate Christ's death and resurrection with several special events.
On Saturday, April 7, at 10:40 a.m. Dick Stenbakken ’62 will perform a first-person drama, The Centurion, in the College View Church sanctuary. Stenbakken, who spent most of his career as a military chaplain, will perform the monologue in full costume from the view point of the centurion who professed faith in Christ at the cross.
On Sunday morning, April 8, at 6:45 a.m. an Easter Sonrise Service will take place near the cross in front of the College View Church. Pastor Rich Carlson, vice president for spiritual life and Chris Blake, associate professor of English and communication, will lead the annual program which includes songs and prayers in honor of Jesus’ resurrection.
Union Market will serve a special Easter Brunch the same morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Alumni, community members and students are welcome. The cost is $15 at the door.
