Union College is an independent, co-educational, four-year college offering more than 50 majors, minors and emphases in 27 fields of study. Founded in 1891, Union is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Union's student satisfaction has consistently and substantially exceeded average results of four-year colleges and universities on 10 of 11 surveyed items (Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey).

With more than 100 species of trees, Union College is a site of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.
Union's varsity sports include men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and men's golf. Intramurals include soccer, floor hockey, flag football, fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, baseball, volleyball, bowling and basketball. Other available activities include swimming, jogging, gymnastics, weight training, tennis and badminton.
Union Market, renovated in 2004, offers a wide variety of vegetarian food options with flexible hours. In addition, more than 60 tasty restaurants are within 10 minutes or less of campus.
Larson Lifestyle Center offers a 25-meter indoor swimming pool and hot tub, weight room and outside tennis courts.
Ethernet capabilities and wireless connectivity are available in the dormitories and most other facilities on campus. There is also a microlab in the Dick Administration Building and Mac lab in Engel Hall with desktop publishing and graphics software, scanner and laser printer.
