For students living both on or off campus, participation in student activities is one of the many traits that sets Union apart from other colleges. Whether a sporting event, banquet, games or concert, there's something to do at Union every Saturday night, and many times in between. In fact, surveys of Union students show twice the involvement in on-campus activities than the national average.
The Student Services office is the epicenter of this vibrant campus life, an intersection between the college administration and student government. The responsibilities of Student Services include overseeing varsity athletics, providing student health and counseling services, managing the residence halls, sponsoring Associated Student Body activities, ensuring student safety, and formulating and enforcing institutional policies.
ASB: Your student government
The Associated Student Body at Union College may be best known for it's active social calendar—organizing games, banquets, debates and much more. However, the role of ASB in student life goes far beyond the work of the social vice president. Officers are responsible for student publications, including representing student opinion to the college administration, and increasing student participation in multicultural, spiritual and academic activities.
The president and vice presidents, known as the executive officers, are elected in the spring before their term. The other officers are then chosen by the executive officers through an application and interview process.

The international representative promotes diversity on campus by representing the views of international students to the student government and college administration. He/she also works with the social vice president to organize events throughout the year such as the World Cup Soccer Tournament and the Mr. and Ms. World Pageant. |

With over a thousand students, faculty and staff at Union College with diverse personalities and backgrounds, no matter what your passion is someone probably shares it.
Campus groups broaden the flavor of Union life. Some functions include fostering diversity through the Multicultural Committee and promoting healthy living with the Wellness Committee.
Numerous student clubs, with interests ranging from outdoor adventures to raising human rights awareness, Warrior sports to business leadership, help students connect with others with similar interests.
Most clubs have open membership and do not require you to be a specific major.

Crisis Preparedness

Campus leaves
You wouldn't go hiking in bear country without telling someone your itinerary, and unfortunately, the world is full of predators of one sort or another. Because of this, resident students who wish to leave campus must fill out a leave request before going on a trip or spending the night elsewhere. A leave request tells the college where, when and with whom students are traveling. Deans need to know that the students are safe, or, if someone is gone much longer than expected, that the student might need a helping hand. Leave requests save everyone a lot of worrying.
Because of their importance, falsification of campus leave requests is considered a serious matter and is likely to be referred to the Deans' Council for appropriate disciplinary action. Failure to file a leave request may result in a leave restriction and a call to parents. Notification of campus leaves may be sent to anyone who receives financial statements, such as parents or legal guardians.
Religious service expectations
Participation in a religious community is an important part of the distinctive atmosphere students come to Union for. To foster a sense of community in worship, the college requires students to attend a certain number of services each semester. The number varies based on class standing, age, marital status, on or off-campus residence and other factors. Rather than requiring attendance at specific worship services, students choose which worship opportunities they want to participate in, and the college records that attendance by scanning the students' ID cards.
