Do what you do best every day by discovering your top five strengths and how to learn, work and excel in them. Most students complete this inventory during New Student Orientation. If you have not taken StrengthsQuest, get a code from Student Services for free. Just ask.
And after you complete the assessment, discuss your results with someone in the Career Center. Amazing things happen when you concentrate on living out of your strengths.
Many of the topics covered in Connections class—a class required for all freshman—help freshman delve deeper into what their calling is. Topics include selecting the right major, using your strengths, etc. This is often a great way to connect with the faculty in your academic program. And your faculty can be a great resource in discovering your calling.
