Mission and Goals

The mission of the Division of Religion is to empower students to serve as Christian disciples, Christian leaders, and Christian professionals sharing the Gospel in preparation for Jesus Christ's return.

The Division of Religion is dedicated to leading each student to DECIDE:

  • Develop a deep-rooted personal relationship with Jesus.

  • Experience and represent a Christ-like character.

  • Commit to discovering and answering unique calls to ministry.

  • Interpret and apply biblical principles for ethical Christian living.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Bible and distinctive Seventh-day Adventist beliefs.

  • Enable others to attain salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Division of Religion prepares its theology graduates to:

  • Apply practical skills in biblical languages;

  • Exhibit understanding and interpretation of the Bible;

  • Exercise ability in pastoral ministry which includes preaching, personal and public evangelism, and interpersonal relationships;

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the history, mission and theological beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist church;

  • Be knowledgeable of Christian theology and its history;

  • Pursue graduate studies.
