It's April 15; Good Morning Union
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:1
Malachi can wait! I just experienced a full lunar eclipse! It was pretty cool! You can see more pictures on Facebook. This was one time when I wished I had a really nice camera because the scene was majestic (and the light was a bit lacking!) See attachment for my best attempt with my little camera!
I really am amazed at the ability of scientists, mathematicians, and astronomers who can predict these events with such accuracy; but I’m even more in awe of my God who can hang those spheres in space with such precision that they can be that predictable. As I stood outside watching the event I was reminded of a psalm I learned long ago. It includes this—“When I consider Your heavens, the works of Your hands, the moon and the stars which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him?”
And the nice part of the psalm is that He answers the question! I am:
1. “made a little lower than the heavenly angels”
2. “crowned with glory and honor”
3. “ruler over the works of His hands”
David’s response, and my response this morning as I watched this morning, were the same—“O Lord, MY Lord, how majestic is Your name in ALL the earth!”
Have a great day in awe of our majestic God,
PS Now I’m going back to bed!! J
