It's April 28; Good Morning Union

“Be joyful always; Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for THIS is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”     1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Wondering about God’s will? Well, here is it (at least in part!):

1.            “Be joyful always.” Joy is not the same as happy, giddy or silly; it’s an inner sense of contentment and satisfaction that I am in good hands.

2.            “Pray continually.” This I can attain by not limiting my communications with God on my knees with my eyes closed and my hands folded and my first words being, “Our dear heavenly Father…” It an attitude of thinking, reflecting, and just talking to Him “as to a friend,” as one favorite author defined it, at any and all times as needed or desired.

3.            “In everything give thanks.” Not necessarily be thankful for everything, but in everything give thanks, for multiple reasons:

                a.            Because it is good. Thank you Jesus

                b.            Because it might be good for someone else. Thank you Jesus

                c.             Because it might be good for me (like brussel sprouts!) Thank you Jesus

                d.            Because it might be good for Jesus and His bigger plan for His world. Thank you Jesus.

                e.            etc, etc, etc!

And THIS is the will of God concerning me (and you!) And my guess is, no, the evidence in my life for me is that as I follow this “will of God” life is much more focused, successful, and beneficial, for me and for others. I highly recommend it.

Have a great day within God’s will,

Pastor Rich
