It's April 9; Good Morning Union

“He has shown you O man what is good. And what does the Lord require of you…?”       Micah 6:8

If I was reading a chronological Bible this morning today’s book- Micah- would be imbedded at about 2 Kings 15 and 16, dated about the 8th century bc when Assyria dominated the world, and God’s people AGAIN were stuck in captivity by a heathen nation because they had turned their backs on God- AGAIN- and they were having to live with the consequences of trying to live without Him- AGAIN. It’s a sadly repeated story too often in the Bible. I’d think maybe someday we’d learn!

Anyway, prophet Micah comes along to remind them that is NOT God who left them, but they who left God! He was just as interested in saving and delivering them as ever. The only catch? He still had expectations that never changed, nor do I think ever will change.

Micah says to the people in captivity, “He has shown you (over and over again) what is good. And what does He still require of you? The same three things:

1.            Do justly

2.            Love mercy

3.            Walk humbly with your God

Any questions?

Have a great day choosing to live by God’s ideals and no one else’s,

Pastor Rich
