It's March 28; Good Morning Union
“To the man who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness.” Ecclesiastes 2:26
This is a book of musings by a guy who made a bunch of bad choices and then had to live with the consequences. He came to the end of his life and basically said, “Boy, that was a really dumb way to waste my life.” Some of it is very melancholy and some of it is hope above the storm. One verse that stuck out this morning as I spent some time in Solomon’s musing was my verse for today.
What a simple solution to the best of life- just seek to please God- obey Him, follow His ways, accept His plan and purpose for my life because what He wants me to have is happiness, wisdom and knowledge. Chapter 3 verse 12 adds to this picture, “I know that there is nothing better for men that to be happy and do good while they live.” So if the best thing is to be happy and do good, and happiness (with the added bonus of wisdom and knowledge) comes from pleasing God then I have another pretty simple suggestion this morning—How ‘bout I just live to please God, by doing good! Everything else necessary apparently falls into place.
Solomon had to learn that the hard way. I might as well learn from his mistakes and be wowed by all that God has for me when I simply make my choices in life in harmony with that would please Him!
Have a great day doing exactly that,
Quote for the day: “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” Mahatma Gandhi
