Good Morning Union

It's January 9; Good Morning Union

Welcome back! Here we go again- another fresh start- another new semester. If you are new to Union I am the chaplain and every day I get up in the morning and share my Biblical musing for the day with our school family via Good Morning Union. Hope you will be as blessed reading as I have been in writing these for the past 17+ years! I wish you the very best as we begin a new year and a new semester. Here goes!

“Seek first HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”      Matthew 6:33

It's December 14; Good Morning Union

Hope your last day of exams goes well and that you have a rest-filled, peace-filled Christmas break. See you all January 9. This is the last GMU until then!

If College Students Wrote the Bible

It's December 12; Good Morning Union

Success on your exams today. I’ll be praying for you. Here’s a little break from the traditional GMU

Written by my nephew, Jeff Carlson:

I eat at the Golden Corral like once a year. After grocery shopping this evening I saw the glowing sign on the rainy way home beckoning me. Not being in the mood to actually cook the things I'd just purchased I gave in. I paid and headed for the salad bar. Seriously. It's the section I use as emotional absolution for the deeds I'm about to commit as the meal progresses.

It's December 9; Good Morning Unioni

Computer and internet challenges at home delayed, not the writing but the sending of, GMU this morning. Sorry

“Lord, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen Your salvation.”         Luke 2:29

It's December 8; Good Morning Union

‘Where is the one who was born king of the Jews?”  Matthew 2:2

It's December 6; Good Morning Union

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed in the child you will bear.”               Luke 1:42

It's December 5; Good Morning Union

“I am your servant, Lord. Let it be to me as you have said.”          Luke 1:38

It's December 2; Good Morning Union

“Then Joseph did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.        Matthew 1:24

It's December 1; Good Morning Union

“You shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God with us.’”   Matthew 1:23

Maybe this is Jesus’ middle name!! Two days ago I was reminded that the angel told Joseph to go ahead and marry Mary because the child in her was planted there by God Himself. He told him to call his soon-to-be-born son “Jesus”—God saves. Today I only got to the next verse in my daily Biblical musings and I found Jesus’ other name, predicted long before this reality by the Old Testament prophet.
