“If we confess our sins, He is faithful…” 1 John 1:9

Thinking about yesterday’s text out on my walk I was reinforced with another “faithfulness” text. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Again, it is HE who is faithful. I must not have been very faithful because I’ve come “confessing my sins!” And:

                IF I confess my sins

“Rejoice ever more…”   1 Thessalonians 5:17

An old Scripture song contains three concepts that are defined as “God’s will.” Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what God’s will is so when I see something that clearly defines that quality my eyes and my ears perk up. For some reason, on my walk the other morning I started humming the old scripture songs I used to play for afterglow at the academy where I first worked. One of them is my verse for today. Three things I KNOW are God’s will:

“You will keep him in perfect peace… IF…”           Isaiah 26:3,4

Anyone want “perfect peace” like I do? Two criteria, according to the prophet Isaiah, result in that goal:

My mind needs to be “steadfast on God”
I need to “trust Him”

“Ask and it will be given you…”  Matthew 7:7

Ask, Seek, Knock. Those are the three criteria that Jesus presented in his sermon on the mount for making my journey with Him more successful.

Ask, and it WILL be given you

                Seek, and you WILL find
