Union hosts 800 gymnasts for AcroFest 2004
LINCOLN—More than 800 high school and college gymnasts representing 24 teams from across the country gathered in Lincoln, Nov. 10-13 for AcroFest 2004, hosted by Union College.
According to Frank Martinez, gymnastics clinic director and Union College Gymnaires coach, participants came to Lincoln from as far away as Maryland and Washington. This is the third time Union has hosted this national event that rotates among colleges across the country.
The three-day workshop culminated in a performance Saturday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the indoor track of the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Twenty gymnastics teams and representatives from the University of Nebraska men's and women's gymnastic programs performed.
