On Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, Senator Tony Fulton introduced Legislative Resolution 248, commending Union College for its growth and continued excellence in education and service. According to the Rules of the Nebraska Legislature, LR 248 was adopted March 5, 2008, and signed by both the speaker of the Nebraska Legislature and clerk of the Legislature.

"During my tenure I have developed a special relationship with the fine people of this institution," said Fulton, whose district includes the college. "I have learned that Union College is a gem in the heart of Lincoln which serves the entire world through higher education and true Christian hope. Today, I and the Nebraska Legislature are pleased to recognize their great work and success."

The resolution specifically cites Union's growing enrollment and contributions to Nebraska's intellectual and economic development as well as recognition earned from U.S. News and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
