Union Drama presents "That's What Makes Them Pirates"

Union College drama students are premiering That's What Makes Them Pirates!, a musical comedy written and composed by Union's own Mike Mennard. Based on Mennard's children's recording, Pirates Do the Darnedest Things, the play unfolds aboard the Jolly Nostril, the pick of the seven seas. The notorious Captain Rapscallion and crew, searching for adventure, revenge, and sword fights, are beset by the infamous Captain Blake, whom Rapscallion believes killed her husband. Throughout the dancing, avenging, and romancing of the pirates, the audience will be asked to participate in this musical comedy for all ages.

Kylie Lowe, sophomore social work major, plays the lead role of Captain Rapscallion. "This is going to be one of the most special events Union College has ever put on. There is a magic in this play that is contagious. Your whole family will enjoy it, every kid between 2 and 102."

Premium seating can be purchased at www.ThatsWhatMakesThemPirates. com. Tickets are $12 for VIP seating, $8 for adults, and $6 for students and senior citizens. Play synopsis, video clips, and photos are posted at www.facebook.com/thatswhatmakesthempirates
