Union College Library Acquires Its First JSTOR Collection

Union College Library has purchased its first JSTOR collection.  The Language and Literature collection includes 78 titles focusing on literature and language in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. The earliest publication is from 1884 and the most recent articles are currently from 2007.

JSTOR specializes in digitally archiving back runs of periodicals. Using a "moving wall" policy, an additional volume of each journal is added to the database each year so that there is always a gap of 3 to 5 years between the database content and the current year.

The current collection was acquired at the request of the Division of Humanities. While there are no definite plans at the moment, additional collections may be considered in the future.
