Following admission to the Union College Nursing Program, students will be required to complete the following steps as specifically detailed in the Acceptance Checklist:
1. Confirmation Fee
Following receipt of an acceptance letter from the Union College Division of Nursing, students must notify the program of their intent to begin the Nursing Program within two weeks of the date of the acceptance letter. A confirmation fee of $250 must be paid to the Division of Nursing upon declaration of intent to start or the seat in the program will be forfeited.
2. Get Financially Cleared
Complete financial steps detailed in the Acceptance Checklist ASAP, as it will take some time for your eligibility to be evaluated for all financial aid programs. If you have any questions or need to set up an appointment, contact Student Financial Services (SFS) at sfs [at] ucollege.edu.
3. Reserve Classes
Contact your academic advisor (see acceptance letter) to start reserving classes for next semester.
4. Clinical Clearance Forms
Please print, sign and return the following forms to the Division of Nursing's Admissions Coordinator.
Background Consent: Your Union College nursing education will involve both observation and hands-on experience in clinical settings. Because of this, you are required to undergo background checks.

Agency Name: Union College Nursing Program
Address: 3800 S. 48th Street Lincoln, NE 68506

Students admitted into the Union College Nursing Program are required to have up-to-date immunizations and current American Heart Association certification with Heart Code BLS (no exceptions). Use the detailed instructions in your acceptance packet to order your professional nursing uniform.
8. Books and Supplies
To save money, time, and be prepared for classes, we recommend purchasing your first semester textbooks from the Union College Bookstore. Enclosed in your acceptance packet is a list of necessary books as well as cost comparisons.
The Nursing Program utilizes computerized testing to prepare you for the NCLEX-RN. You may also choose to utilize your textbooks in an online format both in class and clinical decreasing the number of books you need to carry around. You are required to own a personal laptop computer. We recommend a Windows-based computer, as Macs are more difficult to use with campus technology. Below are the minimum requirements necessary for personal computers:
- Intel Core i5 Processor - More than 200 GB hard drive
- 4GB RAM - 802.11n wireless internet interface
- Windows 7 - Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010
9. Additional Personalized Requirements
If any additional personalized requirements are required, they will be stated in your acceptance letter.
