Job Description: 

The Clinical Skills director supervises the training of didactic students in the areas of skills/procedures preparing them for clinical rotations and future practices.

The outreach director supervises new curricular enhancements to the existing program in the areas of clinical instruction. These responsibilities include:

  1. Development and coordination of selected curricula,
  2. Clinical teaching,
  3. Organizing and monitoring the students' clinical experiences related to the curricula (such as service-learning projects at Project Homeless Connect Lincoln and Matt Talbot Outreach Center Foot Clinic)
  4. Development and administration of evaluation tools for assessment.
Professional Background: 

Cliff graduated from Wichita State University with a B.H.S. in physician assistant studies in 1980. He completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in cardiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2001. Cliff first entered the medical profession as a R.N. in 1975. He spent one year in family practice in Leoti, Kan., in 1980. From 1981-2000, he worked as a cardiology physician assistant in Wichita, Kan. He was called to Union College as the clinical director of the physician assistant program in 2000. In 2003 his family moved to Florida to care for his wife's father. During that time he practiced as a cardiology PA. In January 2005, Cliff returned to Union College as the outreach director of the PA program.

Personal Information: 

Cliff and Lavetta have been married since 1977. They have three children:  Jonathan (1983), Benjamin (1988) and Rachel (1990). The Korfs have homeschooled their children since 1988. The family enjoys nature, gardening, music, Nebraska sunsets and cats.
