As a student at Union, I worked as a writer in the Advancement office and Marketing Communications, served as editor of the chapel bulletin, tutored ESL students and spent two years in student government positions.
Since coming to Union, I have written quite a few articles for CORDmagazine, Outlook, and other publications as part of my job. Older writing credits outside the realm of my professional duties include:
I enjoy typically geeky pursuits. I participate in online culture, such as niche news aggregators, occaisional multi-player gaming, reading/listening to podcasts and books, and keeping up with friends through social networks. I also spend time finding the literary value in TV shows and playing with computer hardware. A multitasker, I usually engage in more than one of these activities at a time.
I also enjoy cooking, and I believe recipes should only be used as suggestions rather than how-to guides.
Since 2009, I've really gotten into photography, which is something of a professional hazard working in PR. I am continually realizing just how much I have yet to learn.
I'm usually up for good food or a game of Scrabble if you'd like to engage me in real-world activity.
